Having touched on our wedding in Marrakech, I feel that not enough attention has been brought to the outstanding venue. With imagery from The Style Junkies and David de Biasi who have perfectly captured the beauty of The Beldi, we cannot emphasis enough how amazing it was for a wedding.
Drop in at the hotel and you will find serenity and bliss at this retreat, a peaceful stay outside of the hussle and bussle of Marrakech. Only a 10minute drive from the airport this hotel has a perfect location and is easily accessible. The hotel has 28 rooms as well as pools, a spa, tennis courts, a cinema, craft workshops and souks selling Safi pottery and Berber carpets. All rooms are embedded, half-hidden, in 12 acres of lush gardens.
It is great for couples and families alike. If its peace and a complete rest you are looking for with a fine chunk of culture this is a must. An amazing place for a huge special celebration.
The main guest pool is a showstopper. This was used the day after the wedding for a pool party with the left over sound system - a beautiful chilled day with friends extending the celebrations. There is plenty of space surrounding the double length pool, a children's shallow area inbetween. Lay out on a day bed and listen to the euphonious sound of olive leaves fluttering in the breeze.
At night the hotel is serene and magical. Lanterns glow through all the pathways in every area of the hotel. Each evening hosted a meal, be it under the terrace with beautiful fresh roses from the gardens or inside with a central open fire, and then taking after dinner drinks in the tent set in the grasses. The wedding party had exclusivity of the whole hotel and the 28 rooms did not dissapoint - each one with unique features. From roof terraces with spectacular views of Marrakech and the Atlas mountains, or outside baths to a mezzaine in the bridal suite. The pictures speak for themselves, but just being there can not compete.
We have to mention the staff who went above and beyond, they were attentive, polite and made every guest feel extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, truly exceptional hosts.
To leave The Beldi was the saddest occasion and the wedding party cannot wait to return at the first oppurtunity, the 1st wedding anniversary has been discussed for this very very special place in the world.
