This week Amy and I took the long awaited trip to Cowley Manor and we can tell you, it really did not disappoint.
It has been a firm favourite of ours for a while now and if Amy had not chosen her destination wedding in Marrakech - Cowley was her venue of choice.
A 30 bedroom manor house located just outside Cheltenham and only a 2 hour drive from London, Cowley Manor is surrounded by 55 acres of their own rolling countryside.
With the option of either exclusivity or a smaller wedding of up to 60 guests, the choices are endless for you and your wedding.
There are only three other hotels within the group, so it is evident the owners have paid much attention to the interiors - the ultra cool and contemporary feel to the whole hotel reflects their ambitions to showcase the building in its strongest light.
The super cool venue boasts many art installations within the grounds, one of our favourites was 'Chicken Soup' which emulates the smile of the cheshire cat from Alice In Wonderland, with a backdrop of lush, dense foliage.
Relaxed in their approach to helping each couple plan their perfect day, from catering to the use of the grounds, accomodation and your ceremony, this is a venue with very few hidden costs or terms. It is definitely achievable to get exactly the wedding you want.
Included in taking exclusivity of the venue is the bridal suite or The Best Room, as it is known - a sumptuous suite with enough space for your bridal party to relax whilst getting ready and a tranquil haven to enjoy with your 'husband' the day after!
The other 29 rooms from Good to Exceptional offer all your guests something spectacular - beautifully finished, each room has a sunken tub big enough for 2 and a seperate walk-in shower and don't even get us started on the stocked minibar.
With up to 80 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast and a further 40 for the evening, Cowley offers you an intimate day with laid back charm you thought you'd only find in the Balearic Islands. The restaurant, which is the largest available space for your ceremony, is being completely refurbished in July and I can guarantee when unveiled, will be something very special indeed.
If food is your thing, then you'll love their Head Chef. There are no set menus or packages.... infact the word is 'off the menu'. You'll get the chance to talk to the chef about what you really LOVE to eat and from there a menu will be put together for you. We cannot wait to go back after the restaurant refurb is complete to sample some of these delights.
The outdoor heated pool and spa gives you the perfect respite for the day after your wedding - Pool Party anyone? Cowley are currently offering hire of the pool with DJ and BBQ for the evening which would be perfect for a summer engagement party like no other?
Speaking of engagements, amongst the landscaped laws you will find the most perfect stepping stone path leading to a secret garden or if you preferred St Mary's Church right next door - (candle lit aisle and your partner on one knee.....swoon)
We honestly could talk for days about this venue, it really was a struggle to leave. So much so, we are both checking prices for this weekend for a break with the children, we are so eager to return. We hope the photos give you a glimpse of the beautiful morning we spent there.
